title:"Why Don't We Care?"
A Visual Communication Research Project

info:Final Project from DES 155A (Form, Pattern and Surface). Responding to the word assigned to me for the entire course, "pest," I decided to look into my frustration of people's perceived apathy towards important issues around the world. Through an unexpectedly extensive and rewarding research process that involves postcard (designed and handed out by me) and e-mail responses, I compiled a report that documented the project and presented the data in both photographic and info-graphic form. Winter 2007.

A Visual Communication Research Project

info:Final Project from DES 155A (Form, Pattern and Surface). A display of selected responses opposite photos of the back of people's heads. The theme of people not showing their faces runs through the entire report, symbolizing apathy as well as anonymity. Winter 2007.

title:Suited for Success Identity

info:Final Project from DES 154 (Message Campaign Design). My group and I developed a campaign for an organization that provides training and suitable work attire for low-income men and women looking for higher-paying employment that would be financially difficult without our help. I designed this identity that incorporates the hanger into the name of the organization. Spring 2006.

title:The Ebb & Flow of Communication

info:Project for Design 191C: Internet and Interactive Design. One of the project's main considerations was the idea of interaction as a medium. Since the purpose of the project was to be interactive and explorative, I decided that it would be appropriate for my topic to not provide immediately accessible navigation. My intentions were to have the audience work to receive the information, but to make the experience fun as well. It briefly touches on the topic of echolocation in relation to humans and the recognition of alternative modes of communication. Completed fall 2005.

title:Urban Pest

info:Project for Design 191C: Patterns, Forms and Surfaces. Assignment was to create a final project by interpreting the word you were assigned. My word was "pest". The dictionary definition of "pest" only pertains to what humans consider as pests such as rodents, insects etc. My interpretation or response to the word was the idea of an "urban pest", whose origins and cause result from the modern lifestyle of humans.
