kazuto nakanishi
Kazuto Nakanishi

Kaz became interested in Design when he started making websites back in high school. Although he was not aware at the time, browsing through websites for countless hours trained him to think critically about layout, type, color, and imagery. During his time at the UC Davis Design Program, he met Professor Danh Nguyen, who opened his eyes to the world typography, Artist/Designer Kristina Lewis, who taught him the joy of form & process, and Professor Glenda Drew, who given him the freedom to be himself and explore. While Kaz enjoyed learning the various fields of Design, he became more interested in the professors and the profession of teaching Design. He is currently working towards a MFA in Design to become an instructor, while taking on personal projects that keeps him awake throughout the night. Kaz loves small type, hats, brown clothing, and San Francisco. He believes insomnia can cure your lack of creativity.
