The Alberini Family Speaker Series is supported through
an endowment by the Carlos and Andrea Alberini Family Foundation.
It brings renowned innovators and thinkers in design to campus
and in virtual formats to inspire students and encourage
community engagement and learning.
Students in Professor Tim McNeil’s DES187 Narrative Environments
are once again designing and implementing the Davis Bike
Scavenger Hunt with the City of Davis on Saturday, May 31st. This
year’s theme is the animal wildlife of Davis. “Creature Quest”
will take riders on a journey around Davis to seven different
clue stop/exhibits each designed to engage participants in fun,
learning activities. Complete the quest and win prizes.
Opening in January 2026, Village Homes: A Radical
Plan celebrates the 50th anniversary of
an innovative west Davis community. Curated by
Professor Timothy McNeil and guest curator Adrienne McGraw, the
installation showcases the vision, concepts, and development
behind the project and its goals.
A number of design students and faculty members are participating
in the Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative
Activities Conference on April 25 and 26. Stop by
to see 17 design students present their work in the arts and
design exhibit – 1-5 p.m. Friday, April 25 in
the University Credit Union Center at the ARC (free and open
to the public).
Cruess Collective is the 2025 undergraduate
exhibition highlighting the versatility and creativity of
the Department of Design, as shown through the outstanding course
work produced over the past year by senior undergraduate
students.
