Mihyun Kang is an Assistant Professor in the Design Program. She holds a
PhD in interior design from University of Minnesota, a MA in interior
design from Iowa State University, and a BS in housing and interior design
from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. She has commercial interior design
experience that includes work in Korea and the United States. She was an
Assistant Professor at Oklahoma State University before joining the
University of California Davis in 2008.
Her research focuses on sustainable interior design issues to minimize
negative impacts and maximize positive effects on environmental, economic,
and social systems over the life cycle of the building. She also has
interests in methodological exploration and utilization to solve
contemporary complex interior design problems for special population. She
has presented at national and international conferences and has published
in several scholarly journals.
